More than 120 Chinese and overseas films across genres have been released this season, with daily box office revenue surpassing 100 million yuan for a month. Domestic animated hit All Wishes Come True has led the year’s animation chart with over 1.4 billion yuan in ticket sales. Spider Man: Brand New Day ranked third after opening in Chinese mainland cinemas two days ahead of its North American release. Domestic comedy Johnny Keep Walking! and other films have also contributed to the diverse lineup of the summer season.
